If both switches are correctly set and the screen remains blank, the unit should be sent to Audiovox for service.

If it is still in the down position, try to free it with the ends of a toothpick or paper clip. When the screen is opened, the switch is supposed to pop up. This switch sometimes sticks in the down position and the screen remains off. It turns off the LCD screen when the panel is closed.

Check the small switch near the hinge at the back of the unit, if one is installed there.

Check that the A/V IN/OUT Switch on the side of the player is set to the OUT position.
